In partnership with the International Geographical Union, the CODATA PASTD Task Group is organising a round table session on data publishing and sharing in developing countries at the 33rd International Geographical Congress.
Data sharing is challenging to geographical communities both in research, education, and sustainable development, especially in developing countries. One of the solutions in data sharing is data publishing which has the virtue of balancing intellectual property protection and data sharing. The IGU-CODATA joint round table session will focus four key issues to gathering ideas and common understanding and joint actions in data publishing and sharing in developing countries: (1) strategies and policies (2) infrastructure (3) capacity building (4) participation of young scientists.
