About the RDA TIGER project:

RDA TIGER supports Working Groups that concretely align, harmonise and standardise Open Science developments and technologies globally. The project is coordinated by RDA Europe, with the Committee on Data of the International Science Council (CODATA), Netherlands eScienceCenter, and the Data Archiving and Networking Services (DANS) as project partners. The services it provides facilitates and supports coherent and consistent Working Group definitions and helps to increase the impact of key European initiatives on the global level.

This role is a fixed-term contract (CDD: Contrat de durée déterminé) in the first instance, but with the possibility of extension subject to funding.  Applicants should hold a valid French work permit or be an EU national.  There will be an initial probationary period of four months. 

Responsibilities of the Project Officer

  • Coordinating, chairing and tracking progress of RDA TIGER WP3 Landscape and Engagement Work Package (responsible for the “Landscape Analysis” service of the project described here: https://www.rd-alliance.org/rda-tiger-services/);
  • Facilitation of selected RDA Working Groups in accordance with RDA TIGER Facilitation Guidelines;
  • Desk research and report writing;
  • Liaison internally and cross-project to ensure project budgetary compliance, communication and interfacing of outcomes where appropriate, and dissemination of activities. 

Qualifications and abilities: 

  • A degree in any research discipline, with at least three years of work experience in scientific research, science-policy or science coordination;
  • A postgraduate degree will be considered an advantage; 
  • Project management experience, preferably in the EU context; 
  • The ability to engage and network across diverse stakeholders in science;
  • Fluency in spoken and written English;
  • Experience of group facilitation or moderation is a plus;
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills;
  • High-quality desk research and writing skills;
  • Attention to detail, time management, creative thinking;
  • A positive and flexible attitude to work;
  • Ability to handle assigned tasks independently while working in a distributed team.
