The CODATA Data Science Journal (DSJ) is seeking new members for its editorial board.

For more than 20 years, DSJ has been a peer-reviewed, open access, electronic journal, publishing papers on the management, dissemination, use and reuse of research data and databases across all research domains, including science, technology, the humanities and the arts. The scope of the journal includes descriptions of data systems, their implementations and their publication, applications, infrastructures, software, legal, reproducibility and transparency issues, the availability and usability of complex datasets, and with a particular focus on the principles, policies and practices for open data. We explore both the science of data and issues of data in science. The journal supports CODATA’s mission “to connect data and people to advance science and improve our world.”

We are seeking data scientists and practitioners from all disciplines and perspectives to help us address the ever dynamic nature of data science research and practice. We are especially interested in editors with experience in emerging data practices and the critical role of data in emerging scientific methods including artificial intelligence, network science, and knowledge representation.

Editors oversee the review of 3-4 papers per year, participate in editorial discussions, solicit papers, and promote the journal in their community. DSJ editors adhere to the publishing core practices outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

If interested in joining the board, please send a short description (~200 words) of your relevant experience to editor@codata.org no later than 30 September. Please describe your:

  • Interest in joining the board
  • Activity and expertise in data science practice or research
