2021 European DDI (EDDI) User Conference: report + videos available

Colleagues interested in the DDI suite of standards can access video presentations (with links to archived slides) from the 13th Annual European DDI (EDDI) User Conference, held virtually 30 November – 1 December 2021, at https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLii5T1O4gQHk6xDePurzc6uMgOv4gzNHX.  Presentations and posters are available from https://zenodo.org/communities/eddi21/.

Prior to the conference, DDI Alliance standards and work products and tools were showcased in a day-long Training Fair, co-sponsored by CODATA and the DDI Alliance.  Videos from the Training Fair are available in the Zenodo community above and at https://codata.org/initiatives/data-skills/ddi-training-webinars/european-ddi-conference-2021-training-fair/ including a general overview of DDI standards, a DDI Cross Domain Integration (DDI-CDI) tutorial, a DDI Lifecycle tutorial, and a DDI Codebook tutorial.

EDDI21 was organized jointly by CDSP (Centre for Socio-Political Data), Sciences Po, France; GESIS, Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences, Germany; and IDSC of IZA, International Data Service Centre of the Institute for the Study of Labour, Germany.  Jon Johnson, Co-Chair of EDDI21, provided a summary of the virtual conference: https://ddialliance.org/announcement/eddi-2021-report.  Sessions highlighted an active DDI user community in Europe and beyond, and covered topics of enhancing metadata, discovery, infrastructure, and interoperability.
