  5. Webinar: Asia-Pacific: Advancing FAIR...

APAN and CODATA organised a webinar on 26th November to showcase the impact of the MoU between the two organisations announced on 20th November. This webinar will present the goals and activities of the two organisations and illustrate approaches to realising synergies between them.

The webinar discussed the history of the collaboration, as well as the groups and activities identified as ideal candidates for further joint initiatives. These topics range from advanced data semantics and interoperability to best practices for bringing science to support societal resilience and SDGs. The webinar will showcase this potential through case studies of joint activities: Citizen Science and Disaster Risk Reduction and Mitigation.

The speakers included:

  • Markus Buchhorn, Advisor to the APAN board
  • Matti Heikkurinen, Project Portfolio Manager at CODATA
  • Veerachai Tanpipat, Agriculture and Open and Sharing WGs, Hydro-Informatics Institute (HII) and ThaiREN
  • Eric Yen, Cloud WG / ISGC, Academia Sinica Grid Computing Center (ASGC) Taiwan
  • Franz de Leon, Disaster Mitigation WG, Advanced Science and Technology Institute (ASTI), Philippines

The recording of the event is now available on Vimeo, and slides are available for download!
