The US National Science Foundation has announced a Programme Solicitation for Partnerships for International Research and Education (PIRE). Proposals must be submitted by ‘U.S. academic institutions with Ph.D.-granting programs that have awarded doctoral degrees in the 2012 or 2013 academic years in any area of research supported by NSF’ with opportunities for joint-funding through collaboration with a number of listed countries (China, Finland, France, Germany, India, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Russia, Spain and Taiwan).
