Note that individual presentations in session will be finalised and confirmed in the next few days and the listing under the sessions is not final.
SciDataCon 2022
SciDataCon 2022 will run onsite in Seoul, Republic of Korea, and virtually 20-23 June 2022.
SciDataCon is the international conference for scrutiny and discussion of the frontier issues of data in research. The scope of SciDataCon covers policy matters and the place of data in the scientific endeavour and scholarly communications; the opportunities of the data revolution for the global research enterprise; innovations in data science and data stewardship; and the challenge of developing a sustainable data ecosystem, including the role of education and capacity building. Since 2016, SciDataCon has been organised as an integral part of International Data Week.
SciDataCon is organised by the two data bodies of the International Science Council (ISC): CODATA (the ISC’s Committee on Data) and the WDS (the ISC’s World Data System International Programme Office).
SciDataCon 2022 comprises sessions covering the following themes:
- Data to Improve our World: The role of data to address global challenges
- The State of Open Science Globally
- Research Transparency, Accountability, and Reproducibility
- Data, Research and Industry: The Interface between Data-intensive Research and Innovation
- Science and Society: Engagement and participation
- Empowering and Enabling Society: Data Science and Stewardship Education and Data Literacy

Registration for IDW 2022
Recognizing that COVID guidelines and travel restrictions are relaxing in the Republic of Korea, we want to ensure you have enough time to plan your travel and have access to the most cost-effective registration fees to attend IDW 2022. It has therefore been decided to extend the Early Bird Registration to 31 May.

The travel and safety procedures in the Republic of Korea, are once again being updated as of 23 May.
Fully vaccinated travellers can already now enter the country without having to quarantine. However, overseas visitors will still be required to submit a pre-departure negative PCR or antigen test certificate to Q-CODE and take a PCR test within three days after arrival in the Republic of Korea.
