Chen Fang Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth,China member Fang Chen is a professor at the Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth,Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He conducts interdisciplinary work combining, remote sensing, ecology, and other fields of study to assess spatial patterns of disaster risk.  He was elected to the CAS “Hundred Talent Program” and he is currently serving as Executive Deputy Director of the CAS-TWAS Centre of Excellence on Space Technology for Disaster Mitigation (SDIM) and Secretary-General of IRDR CHINA, coordinating and involving in multiple collaborative projects related to capacity building in disaster risk management in developing countries. Dr. Chen is selected as a TWAS Young Affiliate Fellow in 2014.

Member Dr. Delwyn K. Moller is a Principal Systems Engineer at Remote Sensing Solutions, Inc (RSS). She received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst after completing the M.E degree (Distinction) and the B.E. degree (Honors) at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. She joined NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) where she worked on radar technology, primarily with a focus toward Earth science.
Edward Chu National Yunlin University of Science and Technology, Chinese Taiwan member Edward Chu received his PHD diploma in the department of Computer Science in National Tsinghua University in 2010. He has much experience in software engineering, and has some BIOS (Basic Input/Output System)related Chinese invention patent,which has been Commercialized.He has been served as an assistant professor in National Yunlin University of Science and Technology. Disaster Prevention and Rescue Information System was the main research area of Edward Chu, including how to staff effective planning and disaster survey path network of volunteers,how to disign the Active disaster response system and interior disaster identification system,also he has published several papers on IEEE International Journal and related major international journals.

Nina I. Frolova Russia Academy of Sciences and Extreme Situation Research Center CO-Chair Dr. Frolova has contributed to many studies on earthquake hazard, earthquake risk, and risk reduction, including the IDNDR and regional activities sponsored by UNESCO, the former UNDRO, Council of Europe projects STRIM (Space Technology for Risk Management) and EDRIM (Electronic Discussion in Risk Management). The Soviet of Ministries awarded her, along with others, the USSR prize in 1984 for their work on the seismic loads and earthquake resistance of high dams. In 2005 she was awarded by UNESCO – GARD Medal for distinguished professional leadership and personal commitment to ongoing programs on disaster reduction.

Raj has been a full-time academic and a researcher since 2004 and obtained his PhD from Loughborough University, UK in 2010 in Information Systems supporting Emergency Response. Raj’s current research interests include Data Quality during Disasters, application of Internet of Things (IoT) for Disaster Management, Human Computer Interface supporting Emergencies, and Cognitive Requirements Capturing Techniques for Emergencies. His recent research findings related to emergency response is now being used by the UK Local Governments and the UK fire and rescue service, to develop information systems supporting fire emergency response.

Susan L. Cutter Hazard & Vulnerability Research Institute, University of South Carolina, USA member Her primary research interests are in the area of disaster vulnerability/resilience science—what makes people and the places where they live vulnerable to extreme events and how vulnerability and resilience are measured, monitored, and assessed.  She has authored or edited twelve books, more than 100 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. Dr. Cutter has also led post-event field studies of the role of geographic information technologies in rescue and relief operations
Virginia Murray Public Health England CO-Chair Virginia Murray is a medical Public Health Doctor with more than 30 years’ experience is Head of Global Disaster Risk Reduction for UK’s Public Health England. She is a member of the International Science Scientific Committee for the Integrated Research on Disaster Risk and co-chair of the IRDR’s Disaster Loss Data (DATA) project is the information dissemination, networking and collaboration forum for the growing network of stakeholders from different disciplines and sectors to study issues related to the collection, storage and dissemination of disaster loss data.. Since 2015 she is also a member of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network for Data.  She has also worked with CODATA from the workshop in November 2017 (Royal Society, London) and the preparations for a Commission on Data Standards to address issues of interoperability and data integration in particular for interdisciplinary research areas including disaster risk reduction.
