CODATA projects

CODATA participates in and coordinates projects that support the organisation’s mission. These projects support and leverage the work of the other CODATA initiatives, often focusing on the strategic priority of “Making Data Work for Cross-domain Grand Challenges”. The role of CODATA is often centred on the cross-domain interoperability of data. However, finding the optimal approaches requires analysing the organisational practices, legal and organisational frameworks, and ethical considerations in tight collaboration with the other project participants.

The project funding sources include national, private and regional actors. Funding supporting the development of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) has played an important role, as the EOSC goals are fully aligned with the CODATA’s mission.
