Receive Recognition from the International Data Community: Become an Organizational Sponsor of International Data Week 2022

The organisers invite sponsorship and other partnerships to ensure the success of International Data Week (IDW), a landmark, global event which will take place in Seoul, Republic of Korea, 20-23 June 2022.

With the theme “Data to Improve our World”, IDW will attract hundreds of data professionals, researchers, industry leaders, entrepreneurs and policy makers from around the globe.  Attendees will explore how best to exploit the data revolution to improve science and society through data-driven discovery and innovation and focus on the ability to openly share data across social and technical boundaries.  

The event will be organised in hybrid format, with both in person and virtual participation.

The organisers’ plan to ensure diverse participation and greater engagement from researchers includes:

1. Attracting wide interest through highlighting Korean, Asian and international leadership and priorities in advancing data science, standards, practices, and technology and to reach research, data, policy, business and citizen science communities.
2. Promotion of the event to research, data, policy and business communities globally and throughout Asia through an integrated communication strategy involving multiple organizations, partners, member outreach and communication channels. This will combine world-class events (SciDataCon 2022 and the RDA’s 19th Plenary Meeting), resulting in unprecedented synergies – regionally, disciplinary and professionally.
3. IDW 2022 will feature high level speakers, keynote addresses and panel debates that will attract researchers as well as the policy, commercial and citizen science communities.  
4. Specific activities that will likely include: A wide variety of cultural, sightseeing and culinary experience will be made available to the attendees during the event. The conference banquet will be held at the Floating Island on the Han River. The host city Seoul provides the best combination of ancient traditions and ultramodern technology. Points of interests are well connected by affordable public transportation systems of subways, buses and taxis. 

We would also welcome direct collaboration to identify additional opportunities to broaden attendance and engagement of research communities and enhance the overall quality of IDW.
