  5. Advancing Climate Data Innovation:...

On 3 June 2025, FAIR2Adapt-EOSC.eu and Climate-Adapt4EOSC will co-host a joint workshop on climate data innovation in Santander, Spain, as part of the EGI2025 Conference. The event will bring together representatives of both projects and other stakeholders working at the intersection of climate adaptation and data-driven research. The aim of the workshop is to share knowledge and seek pathways for more effective data integration and interoperability.

The workshop will explore:

  • Emerging challenges in climate adaptation policy and research

  • Open, EOSC-based tools and infrastructures supporting adaptation efforts

  • Four real-world case studies that demonstrate the integration of climate and environmental data for resilience

  • Barriers to interoperability across semantic, technical, legal, and organisational domains

Participants will engage in discussions around the applicability of cross-domain technologies such as FAIR Digital Objects and the Cross-Domain Interoperability Framework, alongside operational models like the LOTS framework and EOSC service management principles.

The outcomes of the workshop will inform deliverables of both projects and feed into broader strategic discussions at the European Climate Change Adaptation Conference (ECCA 2025), EOSC coordination events, and expert group activities.

On-site attendance is available with registration by 23 May; online participation is open until noon on the day of the event.
