19 December &#8211; Abidjan, Ivory Coast<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"notranslate\">Conscious of the importance of data to build sustainable development, the Francophone African Community on Open Data (CAFDO) in collaboration with the Government of C\u00f4te d&#8217;Ivoire through the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ministry host of the Open Government Partnership (OGP), organizes the second edition of the Francophone Open Data Conference (CAFDO 2019) from\u00a0<strong>17 to 19 December 2019<\/strong>\u00a0in\u00a0<strong>Abidjan<\/strong>\u00a0at the Palm Club Hotel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"notranslate\">The theme of this second edition is &#8221;\u00a0<strong>Open Data: From Principles to Action<\/strong>\u00a0&#8220;.<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"notranslate\">It is placed under the very high patronage of His Excellency the Prime Minister, Head of the Government of C\u00f4te d&#8217;Ivoire.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"notranslate\">The objective of the conference is to promote the openness and reuse of data in French-speaking Africa.<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"notranslate\">Specifically, it will:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"notranslate\">Advocate at the political level for more openness of data produced in ministries and public institutions;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"notranslate\">promote good practices on models of openness and exploitation of data;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"notranslate\">identify common challenges and propose actions for a better contribution of data in building a sustainable economy in member countries.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span class=\"notranslate\">It is expected at this conference, actors from government, civil society, development organizations, research centers, universities, digital communities (Open Source, Open Data, Open Government, etc.).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/conference.cafdo.africa\">Read more<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/codata.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/COFEADO.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-1802\" src=\"https:\/\/codata.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/COFEADO-1024x722.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"625\" height=\"441\" srcset=\"https:\/\/codata.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/COFEADO-1024x722.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/codata.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/COFEADO-300x211.jpg 300w, https:\/\/codata.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/COFEADO-768x541.jpg 768w, https:\/\/codata.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/COFEADO-624x440.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 625px) 100vw, 625px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Francophone Open Data Conference 17 &#8211;
